This is the follow on to Prof. Raizen's Modern Hebrew for Beginners.
Like the first book, it uses reading exercises, videos, verb practices
from the Web. However, she's made some changes that make the book easier
to use. Vocabularly lists are now in alef-bet order. Units start with a
reading selection and reading comprehension questions where before it
could have been either the reading selection or a video.
I liked the beginners book and I think I'm going to like this second
book even better.
One thing I don't like about the book is that it gives instructions
for completing exercises in Hebrew. Although it's good to get students
thinking in Hebrew, I think she did this a little too soon. That's why I
marked it down to four stars. |
