THIS IS A WONDERFUL BOOK FOR HELP ON CONJUGATION OF POLISH VERBS.
EVRYTHING YOU COULD WANT TO KNOW IS IN THIS BOOK. THE SEMI-LARGE PRINT
IS ALSO A VERY NICE FEATURE. IT IS EASY TO READ AND THERE IS NO
CONFUSION BETWEEN LETTERS THAT CAN LOOK ALIKE. 301 POLISH VERBS IS
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. |

Dating a Polish guy with a family who doesn't speak english very well is
frustrating. Entire hours can be spent without hearing your own language
except in short translations. I found this book to be very helpful in my
language expanding efforts. One thing especially helped: the short
Polish to English aproximations of vowel and letter grouping sounds in
the beginning of the book. However, it is neccesary to know someone
Polish or have a tape of native speakers in order to get a couple of
these down accurately. We just don't have these sounds in English. I
couldn't find this in many beginning Polish books and used it often as a
reference when I first started. It's a great addition to a beginning
speaker's library for building vocab.

Conjugation Stress, July 19, 2000
After searching high and low for a book that could facilitate the
sometimes arduous task of conjugating Polish verbs, I think the search
is over. 301 Polish Verbs, by Klara Janecki, offers a logical and clear
approach to learning the Polish verb. Simply by turning the first few
pages you get the immediate immpression that this is a quality book.
Written with wonderful attention to detail, and with explanations that
are presented in clear effective English, success with the Polish verb
is not too far around the corner. In addition, the contextualized
examples give you a reasonable insight into how the verb can become an
active part of your Polish vocabulary. For anyone who wants to increase
the speed and effectiveness of their learning, this is a book for you. |

Very
good reference, June 21, 2000
this is obviously not a book to be used on it's own. but accompanied
by a quality instructional text, this book is great. for example, once
in a while you'll encounter a word in an instructional book that doesn't
look like the infinitive to any verb. this book will help you to figure
those words out. in addition, it allows you to compare various verbs by
presenting a verb and all of the ones that are similar. if you spend
time learning maybe 5 verbs a day, you'll see that your vocabulary and
knowledge of polish increasing tremendously. |

301
Polish Verbs, April 11, 2000
The 301 Polish Verbs is a great advancement over the 201 Polish
Verbs. In addition to getting an extra 100 verbs, all the verbs are
fully conjugated, in all tenses, and the introduction is much more
informative and easier to understand. Each verb now has at least one
example sentence to help ensure proper usage. In addition, this book
contains 42 sample tests with answer keys. The verb index in the back of
the text is easier to read; however, it still lacks an alphabetical
listing of perfective verbs. So if you don't know the imperfective verb
a lot of time can still be spent searching for it. This is a great
reference and I highly recommend it for all levels. I can't wait for 501
