Pimsleur Japanese
|
The Pimsleur Method is the most respected way to learn a foreign
language. There are four underlying principles for the Pimsleur Method:
Anticipation, Graduated Interval Recall, Core Vocabulary, Organic Learning.
About the different Pimsleur versions:
With so many different versions of Pimsleur out there, it could be very
confusing. Here's what you should know:
Recommend versions:
- Comprehensive - This is the
complete version and each level contains 30 half-hour lessons. For many
languages there are three levels (I, II, III).
- Quick and Simple - This
version is inexpensive but only contains the first 8 half-hour lessons. You'll
need to buy the comprehensive version to continue.
- Instant Conversation -This
version contains the first 16 half-hour lessons. You'll need the comprehensive
version to continue.
- Compact - Less-popular
languages will only have this version. It contains 10 lessons.
Versions not recommend:
- Traveler's - Includes 16
lessons plus a phrase card, six postcards, and two luggage tags. Not worth the
extra price, in my opinion.
- Old "Abridged" Versions -
There are many old versions out there and usually cost more per lesson than
the newer versions listed above. They are not listed on our website.
